The Lakeland Fire Department has responded to several structure and power line fires throughout the city today. As Lakeland Electric works to restore power, there is an increased risk of fire. Residents are advised to ensure that all appliances, particularly stovetops, are turned off and clear as power restoration is underway.

If you observe anything unusual or hazardous, you are urged to call 911 immediately. Caution is also advised at intersections where traffic signals may not be functioning, and drivers should be attentive to emergency vehicles. The Lakeland Fire Department emphasizes that community safety is a top priority during this time.
