Auburn Enlarged City School District officials said NewsChannel 9 meteorologist Kate Thornton visited Casey Park Elementary School in Auburn to speak with kindergartners, explain how weather works, conduct experiments and help students become "Mini Meteorologists" who presented a weather broadcast.

RailRiders offer free tickets to nurses during National Nurses Week
Moosic, Pa. — The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders will host a National Nurses Week game at PNC Field featuring a Scrubs Top Giveaway for the first 1,000 fans and a free ticket for life-saving nurses, with the box office open from 10 a.m. to the seventh inning, a 6:35 p.m. first pitch against the Syracuse Mets on Thirsty Thursday, and $2 16-ounce Michelob Ultra and Pepsi pours for the first two hours after gates open at 5:30 p.m.
