Phosphate Town Lecture Scheduled for November 7th

The Lakeland History and Culture Center is hosting a lecture titled "Life In A Phosphate Town" on Thursday, November 7th, at 5:30 PM. The event will take place at the Lakeland Public Library.
Richard A. Fifer, who spent his early childhood in the phosphate mining town of Pierce, will be the featured speaker. He will share his personal memories and his extensive research on Central Florida's phosphate industry, supported by his numerous publications on the topic. Fifer is a member of the Board of the Polk County Historical Association and serves on the Polk County Historical Commission.
No registration is required to attend the lecture.
