Lakeland Celebrates 44th Annual Swan Roundup Event

The City of Lakeland’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department recently held the 44th Annual Swan Roundup on Lake Morton. This event, which took place earlier this week, involves gathering the swans for their annual wellness exams. The exams are conducted by My Pet's Animal Hospital, which has donated its services for this initiative.

This tradition has been ongoing since 1980 and is aimed at ensuring the health of the swan population in the area. The swans have a historical significance as they were originally gifted to Lakeland by Queen Elizabeth II in 1957.
