Polk Schools Health Fairs Offer Free Services

Polk County Public Schools is hosting Health and Benefits Fairs on three different dates this month, offering various health services to eligible employees.
The fairs will take place on the following days and locations:
- **October 18, 2023**: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kathleen High School, 1100 Red Devil Way, Lakeland.
- **October 19, 2023**: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Winter Haven High School, 600 6th St. SE, Winter Haven.
- **October 26, 2023**: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Jim Miles Professional Development Center, 4270 Wallace Road, Lakeland.
Health plan members can receive free biometric screenings to check important health-related numbers such as cholesterol, glucose, and body mass index (BMI). Additionally, employees who are eligible for benefits can access in-person assistance with Benefitplace powered by Benefitfocus. Flu shots will also be available for all employees and their dependents who are on the Polk County Public Schools health plan.
It is important to note that employees must sign up in advance to receive a biometric screening or flu shot. This service is available to PCPS health plan members only, and an insurance card is required.
In related news, open enrollment for benefits will begin tomorrow and will run until November 1. This period allows employees to review their coverage options and make changes to their benefits. For more information, visit polkschoolsfl.com/benefitfocus.
